First elected in 2003 as a Borough Councillor in Melton, and in later in 2005 as a Leicestershire County Councillor.
Presently I am Leader of Melton Borough Council. I also act as Cabinet Member for Safer Communities, and Trading Standards at LCC, and I Chair the Leicestershire Safer Community Strategy Board
& Crime Panel.
I have an excellent grasp of what matters to residents in the Melton Wolds Division and Old Dalby Ward in particular, as I have lived and worked all of my life in the patch.
I am passionate about defending our rural way of life whilst balancing the requirements and needs of the Urban residents of our Borough.
I am blessed with the proven ability to listen to all, and translate residents’ concerns into actions.
I continue to work with the Police to reduce all crime, especially rural crime.
I am particularly interested in collaborative partnerships increasing opportunities for younger people in our communities, and those which increase support for older people enabling them to access services easily.
I continue to work to deliver Super-Fast Broadband to all who live in the Divisions and Towns of our area.
Speeding traffic is Anti Social Behaviour and I will work to help deliver a programme of Community Speed Cameras where ever I see they can help.
I will continue to defend our vital Rural Bus Services to enable people to get to work, college, schools, shops, post offices & doctors appointments.
I will maintain working with Parish Councils, especially Broughton & Dalby Parishes and Ab Kettleby PC, plus any community groups.
I am available through email, telephone, letter, Facebook Messenger, SMS and home visits.
As Leader of the Borough I represent you all with experience & integrity, because if it matters to you it matters to me.
