After graduating from Nottingham University Anthea had a happy career working as a Geologist with the British Geological Survey in Nottingham.
Since retirement she has continued her scientific work as Treasurer and Membership Secretary of the Society for Environmental Geochemistry & Health (SEGH) which aims to bring together geoscientists and medics. It also helps young scientists in developing countries, particularly Africa, offering mentoring and bursaries. Anthea helps to organise a yearly international conference.
Working as a voluntary advisor with the Citizens Advice in Grantham for six years was a humbling experience and until the Covid pandemic struck, she volunteered as a ward helper on the Acute Medical Unit at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.
Anthea is fully committed to the Conservative Party and she is on several Melton and Syston committees, including the Clawson and Stathern branch committee, the Executive committee and the Management committee. Most recently having taken on the Chairmanship of the Patrons’ Club.
Anthea’s hobbies are tennis, walking, and gardening with a particular interest in old fashioned roses.
