Charlie was elected as our Communications Officer in February 2024 and at the same time, as the Conservative Women's Organisation (CWO) Chair for Melton and Syston.
She has a Bachelor of Arts English degree from the University of York and a Graduate Diploma in Law. She is a qualified solicitor and spent much of her career working in criminal law.
She was a local councilor in Wimbledon (2014-18), a parliamentary candidate in Bethnal Green and Bow (2017) and a Police and crime commissioner candidate for Surrey in 2019. She entered the world of politics at 26 years old, when she was first elected as a unitary councilor.
She has sat on the Melton Executive Committee for nearly two years before being elected as an officer. She is passionate about getting more women to stand on a county and national level.
Melton born and bred, she prides herself on being a true Meltonian, with four generations of Melton in her family. Her great aunt had one of the first sweet-shops in Melton and her grandfather was a local farmer. Her great grandfather helped set up MenCap and Melton Swimming Baths. She is passionate about preserving the local community and Melton's unique history.
Outside of Politics, Charlie plays tennis, enjoys long hikes, beach walks, Leicester City Football Club, Poker and cats.
